Durable Rural Fencing for Land and Livestock

We know that agricultural fencing has an important job to do. It keeps livestock where they should be, marks out boundaries clearly, and helps keep land organised.

We also know that in order to do that job, agricultural fencing needs to be strong enough to handle changing weather conditions, as well as the general wear and tear that comes with working the land. That’s why we only use materials and methods suited to the local land and how it’s used.

At CC Fencing, we’ve been installing rural fencing for farms, paddocks, and properties across Milton Keynes and the surrounding villages since 2007. We help local landowners put reliable boundaries in place, and we always provide the most straightforward advice so you can make informed decisions for your property.

In addition to installations, we also carry out repairs to all types of fencing, including agricultural fencing, helping to keep existing boundaries secure and working as they should.

If you’re a local farmer or landowner in need of a reliable agricultural fencing partner, please give us a call. We’d love to come out and visit your site, assess your needs, and provide a free quote for your upcoming project. We can also share our current availability and typical project timelines to help you plan ahead.

Typical Agricultural Fencing Projects and Applications

Agricultural fencing is used in different ways across farms and rural land, depending on the layout, the livestock, and how secure the boundary needs to be. Here’s a quick look at the types of projects we typically work on.

Preferred Materials for Rural Fencing Around Milton Keynes

Rural fencing is typically built with treated timber posts, wire fencing, stock fencing mesh, and other practical components suited to the land and exposure to the elements. For some jobs, creosoted timber posts and rails may also be appropriate where extra durability is needed.

In our experience, the choice of material depends on the type of stock, the size of the boundary, and the purpose of the fence. If you’re not sure what material you might need, this is something we can discuss when assessing your property.

How We Install Agricultural Fencing

We have a range of plant machinery available, allowing us to handle agricultural projects of all sizes and ground conditions efficiently. Here’s what our typical installation process looks like.

1

Site Visit and Inspection

We begin by visiting the site, looking at the layout of the land, and talking through what the fencing needs to do. As part of our process, we may take reference photos to document boundary locations, which can help provide added clarity if any disputes arise in the future.

2

Old Fence Removal (If Needed)

If there is any damaged or ageing fencing already in place, we can take it down ahead of the new installation. We’re fully registered as an upper-tier waste carrier, so you can be confident all materials are disposed of properly. We’ll always have a clear plan in place for keeping the field contained during installation, reducing the need to move livestock where possible.

3

Marking Out the Boundary

Once the plan is clear, we mark out the fence line properly so the new boundary follows the site correctly and works for the way the land is used.

4

Installing Posts for Strength

Fence posts are then installed to suit the type of agricultural fencing being fitted. This gives the boundary the support and structure it needs.

5

Attaching the Fencing Materials

The final stage is fitting the rails, mesh or wire, and finishing the line neatly. That leaves you with a fence that feels secure and ready for use from day one.
